Visitors

My dad's cousin Vince, who also happens to be my Godfather came to visit with his wife Kathy. We rented some 4 wheelers and went up in the mountains somewhere and had a blast! I rode with Vince most of the day. Joey thought it would be funny to pass us and drive through a huge puddle, soaking us. It was freezing and that just made it even more so. We had so much fun but by the end of the day we were all beat! Vince and Kathy made us a great dinner and we played our favorite card game, Shanghi.
Libby played on the floor while we played cards Joey and I

Uncle Joey

Libby is so lucky to have her Uncle Joey live with us. They have so much fun playing and being silly. Joey's middle name is Liberty so that is who she is named after. We love having Joey around to keep Libby entertained with his craziness. He makes sure she watches every Bengals game decked out in all her gear!

Recruiting Banquet

Every fall the National Guard sends all the recruiters and their wives to an awards banquet. This year they sent us to Midway (by Park City) and put us up at the Zermatt. It was so beautiful. Lucky for me the banquet usually falls right around my birthday. Being up in the mountains in the fall is my favorite! Dan got his award for achieving 100% of mission! Dan and some of the guys he works with

On my birthday Sept 24th. A bunch of friends got together and we all went to Tepanyaki for Dinner. We had a blast! After that I really wanted to play cornhole so A.J. let us all come to his house for drinks and cornhole! The greatest part about my birthday was that A.J. and I FINALLY beat Dan in cornhole.... TWICE!!! I was so excited I almost tackled A.J!!This was one of the last times we got to hang out with Jaren before he deployed!!Jaren, A.J., Dan and Kelsey
This was Jake's first time playing cornhole. He did great! This was before we kicked his butt in cornholeWhitney, Heather and IA.J trying to catch a shrimp at Tepanyaki.

Firsts

Libby had a big day September 14th. It was really rainy outside so we stayed in and played until Uncle Joey got involved. He wanted to see if Libby liked the rain so he took her outside. She gets in the shower all the time so I'm not sure how it's different but she scrunched up her face like she didn't like it. After Joey was done torturing her, she learned how to help daddy brush his teeth! Then I decided it was time to eat. Libby tried her first food, carrots! She loved them!!

Labor Day

On Labor Day we went to Grandpa Jerry's (Dan's Grandpa) for a sleepover and then breakfast. All of Dan's cousins and brothers and sisters came and we had a blast! Libby put on a good show for everyone sitting up for the first time on her own! She was having a great time until she couldn't figure out how to lay back down. By the time I found my camera she screaming! The next morning we had good food and played some cornhole to finish out the party.

Mommy and Baby Night

Not only were Dan and I blessed with a sweet little baby but quite a few of my friends also have little ones around the same age as Libby. All of us mom's got together for an evening of mom talk and eating while the kids had their playdate the living room. It was so much fun and I'm sure if we keep it up they will grow up to be great friends. Devyn brought her daughter Berlyn. Ashlee had cute little Tate, and Hollie has the big sweetie Sawyer!

Flaming Gorge

This last weekend we dropped off Libby with Grandma and Grandpa Traum and took off to Flaming Gorge for a weekend away. We had a blast cliff jumping, tubing, wakeboarding, smores and a rope swing I almost died on! Michael and Brit, Jake and Whit, Kyle and Dem, Joey and his friend Clint and about 15 more people camped with us. The weather was beautiful with just a little rain each afternoon. We will for sure be visiting this place again! We missed Libby so much but what a great way to end a crazy summer.

Busy Busy

Libby is getting so big! We took her to the doctor to check her weight and she is 12 lbs. 12 oz. The doctor said she is doing great and doesn't need another weight check until her next appointment. She is rolling all over the place, reaching and grabbing for everything and just getting so big! We bought a jumparoo for her and she can't get enough of it. She'll be crawling so soon! Dan started school and he loves it! He is so smart and especially loves his history class.

4 month checkup

Today was an exciting day. Libby went to the doctor for her 4 month check up. Her head is 75th percentile, length 45th percentile and weight 2nd percentile. The doctor says I have to start supplementing with formula. I gave her a bottle when we got home and she sucked it down. Apparently I was starving my kid. Otherwise he said she looks great and is a cute baby with a great personality. (She takes after her momma) Also, Dan registered for classes today. He is starting at Weber State this fall for accounting. I'm so excited for him. He has a huge thirst for knowledge and I know he'll do great!

For real this time

Ok, for real this time. I've finally set up my blog so here goes. This year has been full of excitment starting off with Dan getting diagnosed with Type I diabetes. He was feeling thirsty and tired all the time and losing a lot of weight so I took him up to my work and checked his blood sugar. It was 671!! That is really super high so we went to the ER and got a 3 day stay in the hospital. About a month later our Libby was born. 6 lbs 14 oz. 191/2 inches long. She is so much fun and is growing so fast. She is almost 5 months now. In May we planted our first garden. Tomatoes, Zuchinni, Watermelon the works. In June we spent a week in Mexico at Dan's uncle's condo. It was so relaxing and totally worth the 15 hour drive. July was super busy with 9 days in Hawaii and a weekend in Nebraska. Hopefully the second half of the year is as exciting as the first.
